Q & A

Why did you choose your profession?

I like understanding how things work, so I wanted a career that mixed creative and science. Starting in the early days of social media, strategy was a good fit. I found a niche where I get to do both.

I’m passionate about the art of storytelling and building narratives, but equally driven by the science of KPIs, performance metrics, and revenue growth.

Today, my profession allows me to blend my passion for culture and content with my talent for business and leadership.

Who are your main influences?

I’ve always been heavily influenced by the constant evolution of media itself—moving from the tried-and-true principles of legacy publishing to the agile, data-driven, and creator-focused models of today’s digital landscape. From traditional magazines to TikTok, I find inspiration across mediums.

What is your greatest accomplishment?

My most significant accomplishment was conceiving and launching a first-of-its-kind content partnership between Shopify and Who What Wear that directly generated six-figure revenue.

I identified an opportunity to create a new e-commerce revenue stream by integrating affiliate commerce into our editorial strategy. I led the initiative by conceptualizing a unique, integrated partnership with Shopify, which had never collaborated with a fashion media brand in this way before.

To make it happen, I aligned all the key stakeholders across our editorial, tech, and business development teams, and I personally oversaw the production of exclusive content features.

This landmark collaboration proved the commercial viability of our content and solidified the brand as an innovator in the nascent commerce-as-content space.

What tools do you use?

Analytics and SEO: Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, and more for performance tracking, keyword research, and competitive analysis.

Project Management: Asana, Trello, AirTable for managing editorial calendars and workflows

Social Media Management: Platforms like Hootsuite, Later, and Sprout Social for scheduling and analyzing social media content at scale

Creative and Collaboration Tools: G Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides) MS Office, Slack, Canva, and the Adobe suite.

What advice would you give someone just starting in your profession?

It’s important to understand that content is both an art and a science. Learn the art of compelling storytelling, but also the science of KPIs, SEO, and affiliate marketing. You must be able to write a beautiful sentence, create an engaging social campaign, and then prove its value with data that impacts the business’s bottom line.
